The world of social media

In my original first post I had stated that Social Media can take over your self happiness. No matter what media outlet we are on: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or even Linked In. Social media is a place to broadcast your life. Which seems cool at first to tell everyone your accomplishments and the cool things that you have done in life, until you start comparing yourself to other people through social media. I am a very active Instagram user and I compare myself by likes, if I could just get 200 likes then I'll be happy. Well, then I hit my new "like goal" , and I don't feel the happiness I think I should feel so I set another goal. It's a constant cycle of comparing yourself to people. This is why I recently deleted my instagram app, It's only been three days but I am a lot happier. Don't get sucked into the social media world and live your life through it. Put your phone downwind enjoy life through your own eyes.

Furry friend

Are you an animal person? ME TOO! This relates to my last blog post about building relationships. Maybe you really aren't a people person, well a good alternative is a furry/scaly friend. I, personally, have two dogs and they are my happiness. Who wouldn't love to be greeted with kisses and happiness overtime you come home? I highly suggest getting a pet because you can vent to them, cuddle with them, and play/ go on dates with them. What better forever friend! My animals bring me self happiness, go get a furry friend and comment your furry friends names!

Relationship building to happiness

"I am a strong independent woman/man." Well that's great to hear but through this college journey you will not want to be alone. Who are you going to talk to about your achievements and struggles? One of the most important points of my self happiness is the support I have behind myself. Strong relationships DO promote self happiness. No matter if that's with family or friends, you need a mentor to guide you and give you advice through this life transition. Even if you are a person that keeps to yourself most of the time these relationships are proven to provide you happiness. *Strong reminder that all my posts are opinionated*

Travel your way to happiness

Finding your hobbies is important as stated in earlier blog posts.        One of my hobbies is traveling.       This can be a difficult hobby while in college, because we are all in the same boat...limited money limited fun? No, so not true at all. You don't have to go somewhere tropical to count it as a trip. Take a road trip, split the gas money, camp in your car. Live a little. See what's out there besides your hometown. Take a trip with YOUR person or people. No matter if it costs $1 or $1000 Get a way from S T R E S S. Happy Traveling.

Healthy Life Healthy Mind

Be HEALTHY! It sounds simple on paper doesn't it? Especially to people just going into college. You never think you are going to be the one to gain the freshman 15...or 30. Why would your eating styles change in college? Let me tell you, there are many reasons that you probably already figured out. The dining hall is your worst nightmare, especially when you are like me and had an unlimited meal plan last year. All you can eat, unlimited food with multiple dessert options. Fortunately for me I did not gain the freshman 15 and avoided weight gain. *I am not in any shape or form an expert, this is purely just my opinion* Here's my story: At the beginning of freshman year I had a snack box, and overtime pf eating in the dining hall I saw people grab multiple entrees to eat in one setting. I believe this is where people mess up. A meal is only suppose to be one entree, that's what you are taught your whole life. And then you get to college and see your peers chowing down on ...

A higher being of happiness

This is the fourth post in my self happiness series. I hope everyone has found some things I write about to be relatable. In the comments if you would like to write a little something that you have learned or if you have tried out any of my tips that would be awesome.      I want you all to remember these posts are my opinion only, all tips might not apply to your life. This topic might be touchy for some people. Today I will be writing about Religion, beliefs, and believing in a higher being.      Recently, this past weekend I went away to a church based camp. I went along with the YoungLife club, here at my college Washburn University.      If you know what YoungLife is, you know that I am a Christian. This blog post will NOT only be about Christianity so if you don't believe in that keep reading anyways.     Something I learned this past weekend that is going to stick with me forever would be I am not ...

Find a Passion

Through this blog you have learned the importance of self happiness through my perspective. You have also learned two main tips I have learned while going on this college journey. One being to stay involved on campus with clubs, greek life, and taking enough credit hours. The second tip being to find a job with a flexible work schedule and/or internship. Today I will be introducing my third self happiness tip. Find a passion. No matter how busy your schedule is or how much extra time you have finding something you like is important. Some popular passions include: Cooking Going to concerts  Drawing/making art  Learning a new language  Training a pet  Photography Traveling  Video games Designing computer games  Leading an organization  Writing  One thing important about finding your passion is choosing them. A person does not have to have only one passion. Try new things and gain happiness from it.  Please comment ...
