Find a Passion

Through this blog you have learned the importance of self happiness through my perspective. You have also learned two main tips I have learned while going on this college journey. One being to stay involved on campus with clubs, greek life, and taking enough credit hours. The second tip being to find a job with a flexible work schedule and/or internship. Today I will be introducing my third self happiness tip. Find a passion. No matter how busy your schedule is or how much extra time you have finding something you like is important. Some popular passions include: Cooking Going to concerts  Drawing/making art  Learning a new language  Training a pet  Photography Traveling  Video games Designing computer games  Leading an organization  Writing  One thing important about finding your passion is choosing them. A person does not have to have only one passion. Try new things and gain happiness from it.  Please comment ...

Work Life

In my other blog posts you can see that my first semester of college I spent most of my time watching Netflix or bored in my dorm room. If this is you or you are trying to learn how to balance all of the things life is throwing at you, keep reading! In my last blog post I suggested to get involved on campus. Whether that is intramural sports or greek life everyone can find their nitch on a college campus. You may ask yourself what could I do in my spare time when I am off campus? I would suggest finding a job. This job could help as a de-stressor because you will earn money to pay for your tuition and/or some spending money. You should be careful about getting a job, because I can also act as a stressor if you overwork yourself with too many hours. One other suggestion would be if you are later in your college career you could try and find an internship in your field of study. It is always good to network early in life, because you never know who you meet in life that might make...

Stay Involved

As my last post said I am a strong believer in self happiness. My freshman year I was only taking 12 credit hours, therefore I had a lot of free time on my hands. In that free time, I watched lots of Netflix and found myself extremely bored. As I said in my last post as well, all of my other friends were having the times of their lives. Social media can have a big influence on people, as we can compare our lives to other peoples through screens. How did I get over this sad boring feeling? The answer is quite easy actually. I got involved on campus. First i added one more class to my course load to equal 15 credit hours. I joined a sorority which took up my Monday nights because of dinner and meeting. I started to make connections and friends with that. I also got involved with YoungLife a Christian club. Through Greek Life I learned about Campus Activity Board and last year applied for  program director. I ended up getting the job for this year and love it. I am so busy because ...

The importance of self happiness

Self happiness is important in everyday life to move forward with life. Recently I just finished my first year of college and I have learned a lot about happiness. Through this blog I will be covering different things that you can do in college to get happiness. I thought it would be a good to overview what I learned the first year about loving myself as my first post. First, let me start off by saying  I chose a smaller school, close to home. This was the best decision for me academically as I focus better in small class sizes,  also the best decision because I am a family person couldn’t imagine life without seeing them every week (yes I’m that girl and I’m proud).   I was excited to start my new chapter , even though my main friend group was splitting up and going to different schools I knew we would keep in touch.  Going shopping with my future roommate that I knew from high school for dorm decorating was the most fun thing about planning for college.  M...
